Jessica & Robert

May 3, 2010

Here are a few of my favorites from Jessica & Robert’s super elegant wedding at the Chicago Hotel Intercontinental this past weekend.

I couldn’t help but laugh at this one….David Rothstein broke out his iPad and used it to cue the band for the next song in the set list

Today I got an email from the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) letting me know that Charlie & Glenn’s wedding from last month at Chicago’s Swissotel and Holy Name Cathedral has been published on their site as one of their “Real Weddings”!  You can see the published pictures HERE.  Thanks again for letting me photograph your special wedding ceremony and reception!

Three weeks after Glenn & Charlie’s wedding at Chicago’s Swissotel, I was back at the Swissotel for Vijay and Shiraz’s wedding day ceremony and wedding celebration.  This was the 2nd Hindu wedding ceremony I was able to photograph this season, the first being Shika & Shridar back in May.  Here’s a selection of the photographs that I took over the past weekend!

017020021022023024025026Congratulations!  Every Hindu/Indian wedding ceremony and reception that I’m honored to photograph amazes me with the color and energy between the two families.  Thanks again to Vijay and Shiraj for including me in your special wedding day and allowing me to photograph your memories!

This was the 2nd time this year I was able to photograph a wedding at Navy Pier’s Crystal Garden room.  The first was back in June with Carrie and Brian – you can see their wedding pictures here.
However fast forward a few months and who would’ve thought that sending a drink to a young lady across the bar at Shenanigan’s House of Beer on Division St. would lead to a wedding at Chicago’s Navy Pier Crystal Gardens.  Here’s a few pictures from their big day!
It happens at every wedding at Navy Pier’s Crystal Gardens…the kids just can’t resist the jumping water display!
This was a bit different, but very cool…..Rob didn’t want to see Katie until the very last minute, so during the procession, he stood with his back to the aisle, only turning around just as Katy and her Mom finished walking up.

They wanted a photograph with the ferris wheel in the background….luckly Olive Park provided this angle!

Rob’s best man absolutely skewered the groom with his toast/speech.  Rob, his family and his groomsmen are all from London, so “Whitey” felt the need to “translate” a lot of his speech for the American Yanks in attendance.  For those of you who weren’t there, here’s a quick re-cap:

Yanks = Americans
Gents = Mens Bathroom
Cupboard = Closet
Arse = Ass
Pissed = Drunk
“Did a Maths” = “Majored in Mathematics”

So wedding #2 from last weekend found me taking photographs of Charlie & Glenn. The 11am ceremony time at Chicago’s Holy Name Cathedral sounds ridiculously early, however the payoff is having over 4 hours to ride around Chicago with the bridal party taking pictures between the wedding ceremony and their reception at the Swissotel Chicago. Makes for a long day, but more than worth it when it comes to the pictures!

Charlie couldn’t have been more excited to hop in the cab and head over to Holy Name for their wedding ceremony!

Some of the locations we used for their wedding pictures were (in no particular order)…Navy Pier, Olive Park, Chicago’s Millenium Park, the Chicago Museum Campus, and of course, the Swissotel Chicago.

Almost one year to the day I posted Julie & Ryan’s Northwestern University themed engagement session photos. Well this past weekend everything came together for their spectacular wedding at Chicago’s Standard Club. Here’s a sample of some of the photography from their big day!

The floral centerpieces created by Virginia Wolff were the talk of the wedding reception….(at least until the bride walked in!)

Mary Winslow of Take the Cake was commissioned to create Julie’s contemporary Northwestern themed purple and white wedding cake

If you’re looking for a live band at your wedding or event, your search should begin and end with Entourage. These guys can seriously bring it…I don’t think the dance floor was even close to empty all night!

Huge thanks go out to everyone else involved with Julie & Ryan’s special day. Venue lighting and design provided by Frost Lighting, and last but not least, event co-ordination by Mindy from Affairs With Linda made sure every detail was in place and everything ran on time! Thanks again!

You can’t get married at Navy Pier and not go for a ride on the ferris wheel!

They say everything comes in 3’s….well this is the third couple in the last 12 months named Carrie & Brian! You can see the other two here from last Novemberand also here from last August

Maybe I should run a contest to see who the viewer’s favorite “Carrie & Brian” couple is/was……..
