I don’t think Jack realizes that he is probably one of the luckiest kids in the world.  This past September we took Jack to Orlando for his first visit to Walt Disney World.  Needless to say the House of the Mouse was a pretty  big hit, and despite his new-found interest in Star-Wars, Scooby-Doo, and Super-heroes, he still has a lot of love for Disney.

Lucky for Jack Amy’s Mom & Dad surprised us with a Disney trip at Christmas this year.  But the best part about this trip is Jack’s brother, cousins, aunt, uncle, & grandparents are coming along as well!

Needless to say I’ll be out of the office for a few days starting tomorrow, but will be available via email while I’m gone.

Shikha & Manmeet are getting married this summer, and despite the brutal weather and the fact that they are both in the middle of their medical residencies in different states  (Georgia and Massachusetts), they were able to find the time to hop on a plane and make it in for their engagement photographs this past weekend.  There’s more to come, but I wanted to post one of my favorites from the first part of their session…..

Flashes of Hope Holiday Party

February 12, 2011

With the craziness of the holiday season, I almost forgot to post this!  Back in December I was asked by Flashes of Hope to be one of two photographers to provide the portraits at the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital Holiday Oncology  Party.

For those of you who don’t know, Flashes of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to to changing the way children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses see themselves through the gift of portrait photography.  Every month in hospitals around the country, volunteer makeup artists and photographers come together to help hospitalized children feel better about their changing appearances by celebrating it with a full portrait photography experience.

To learn more about Flashes of Hope, to make a donation, or to find out how you can help as a volunteer, please visit www.flashesofhope.org. The work I’ve done for ‘Flashes is some of the most challenging I’ve ever come across, but it’s also the most rewarding.  If pediatric medicine and care hold a place in your heart the way they do in mine, you owe it to yourself to support this incredible organization.
