Thaiany and Alex celebrated their wedding this past weekend at Naperville’s White Eagle Country club.  Thaiany also got ready at Aurora’s newest hotel, the Hotel Arista (which by the way is a pretty cool place to have a wedding too!).  Both their wedding ceremony and reception were at the golf course, which is a great place for pictures!

Nicole & Stevan (click the link to see their engagement photos) were married last week with a traditional Serbian Orthodox wedding ceremony, followed by their wedding reception in Joliet!

I love this last picture because it’s all JCP Brides & Grooms, past, present, and future! If you’re a loyal follower of the blog you might remember Jen and William (left), and stay tuned for Stacie and Mike (right) who are getting married later this year!

Kristin & Howard were married this past weekend at the ridiculously gorgeous Cuneo Museum and Gardens in Vernon Hills.    If you’ve never been here before, regardless of whether you’re planning a wedding or not, definitely check out the Cuneo Museum to see how the “other half” lived back in the roaring 20’s!  Even if you just need a place for some casual family pictures, or if you’re a nature lover, it’s worth a trip to Vernon Hills.  As soon as I laid eyes on this place I knew it was going to be an exquisite wedding, as well as a fantastic venue for wedding photographs!

I think it’s cool when the bride lets the bridesmaids pick out their own shoes……

So this was the area where the cocktail hour was held….however can you imagine having a backyard like this….the Cuneo Museum’s pool house was larger than some of the apartments I’ve lived in!
The wedding ceremony and photography opportunities were pretty dramatic, but can you imagine what the landscaping bill on a place like this would’ve been?

Like most beautiful wedding venues however, the only downside to having your wedding at a place like this is making sure you have enough time for pictures, while at the same time being able to enjoy your cocktail hour and wedding reception.  I could’ve easily shot with Kristin & Howard for several hours both before and after their wedding ceremony, however I do realize that the photographs are only one part of the entire wedding day experience.

Vicki & Scott

If you ever drive up and down the busy stretch of Milwaukee Ave in Glenview, just south of Euclid/Lake St and under the I-294 overpass, you wouldn’t think that it’s one of the greatest areas on the North Shore for a wedding ceremony and/or a wedding reception.  However tucked back into the woods immediately off of the busy four lane road is the Redfield Estate at the Grove.   Once you turn off of Milwaukee Ave. it feels like you’ve been sucked into wooded countryside that reminds you of Northern Europe, or possibly early New England America.  The main country house (which was actually the family home of the Redfield’s) building and surrounding gardens and woods make the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony and reception.

I thought this was so cool how Todd had his two sons wait with him to see Julie for the first time!

Catered By Design showed off their really cool champagne flute tree which greeted the guests following the wedding ceremony…..

…..and my 2nd shooter Kasey K totally nailed this great shot of Julie through the champagne tree…..

and if you can’t drink champagne, I guess you’re just left to blow bubbles!
